Community Newspaper Comes to Treasure Lake

On Friday, March 1, 2019 an online community newspaper will officially launch in the semi-private, gated community of Treasure Lake, PA. The newspaper, aptly named, Lake News, will feature content submitted by local residents, property owners, and businesses. According to Treasure Lake Resident and creator of the new online publication, Cyndi Kimball, “The goal of the newspaper is to affirm a sense of community within Treasure Lake. Whether you’re a seasonal resident, full time resident, timeshare owner, camper, or guest, we want our newspaper to highlight and showcase the best Treasure Lake has to offer.”

The Lake News tagline, “For you. By you,” describes the intent of the paper to collect content primarily from community submissions. “Our community in Treasure Lake is very active online with over half a dozen Facebook pages, and we want to embrace that social mentality of sharing information but in a news oriented context and format, where reliable and useful information can be shared and found in one space,” Kimball says. She continued, “We hope that residents will submit wedding and engagement announcements, birth announcements, anniversaries and obituaries as well as news stories. What ties a community together is the relationships we have with one another and we hope Lake News will be a catalyst for building and sustaining those relationships.” Plans to incorporate submissions by the Board of Directors, Treasure Lake Property Owners Association, Clubs, and Committees are underway.

The newspaper is free of charge and includes free classified listings for residents. Businesses interested in advertising or being included in the business directory should email Advertising fees will be waived during the initial launch month of March 2019.

Persons interested in submitting photos, videos, news, announcements, or events, should email them to by midnight on Wednesday for Friday publication.
