Treasure Lake resident Gail Westover, a Recipe Developer and blogger for Chew Wanna Eat, is sponsoring a month-long Food Drive to help feed DuBois families in need.
“The need is great in our area, and is growing all the time. The cost of everything has gone up and it’s common knowledge that people are running out of food by the third week of the month. This is our community, and it takes so little to make a difference,” Westover explains.
We are hoping that local businesses as well as residents will help. The Food Drive is going on now and will end April 30, 2019.
How you can help:
1. If you own a business, we need places where people can drop off food.
2. Write a check payable to The Salvation Army of DuBois. In the memo, please write ‘Food Bank’.
3. Food donations are welcome. What they are in need of currently: Peanut Butter, Jelly, Juice, Sliced Cheese, Spaghetti Sauce, Pasta, Tuna, Cereal, and Bread. Perishable items can be dropped off at The Salvation Army at 119 S. Jared St; DuBois, PA.
4. Gift Cards to Wal-mart, Martin’s, Aldi, are accepted. The suggested amount is no more than $25 each, rather than one large one. That way more families can be helped.
If you have any questions, please e-mail Gail Westover at email@example.com or call 814-371-4569.
