The ranking takes in to account factors such as, the Treasure Lake housing market, home values, taxes, crime rate, and the quality of DuBois Area Schools.
Contributing to Treasure Lake’s top ranking is the high median household incomes combined with low home prices, concluding it to be an attractive place to buy for young families and retirees. At over $65,294, resident median household income is 18% higher than the national median income of $55,322, and median home values are 13% lower than the national median, $163,400 to $184,700, respectively. Treasure Lake also has a high percentage of home ownership with 97% of residents owning their home while only 3% rent.
Treasure Lake earned an overall Niche grade of B, with housing earning an A-. The community also scored high with B+’s in ‘good for family’, public schools, and nightlife. Weather, with a C-, came in with the lowest score.
Coming in slightly above the national average, 21% of Treasure Lake residents hold a bachelor’s degree compared to 19% of the rest of the country, while 8% of residents hold a master’s degree or higher.
