Construction at Duffers’ Tavern is complete, according to Bo Lockwood, food and beverage vendor at Treasure Lake. “Crews are now working on completing cosmetic touches such as sanding drywall and painting. The bar top is installed and we hope to start installing the kitchen equipment this week,” says Lockwood.
The construction on Duffers’ Tavern has been a whirlwind project with crews working hard to meet the tight deadlines of opening in time for the spring season. Crews began work in early March leaving less than two months to complete the major renovation.
“We’re on track to open the first part of May, maybe a couple days before or after the first of the month,” says Lockwood. “We plan to start with a soft opening for invited guests so our team can get used to the menu and new facility, and then have a grand opening for Treasure Lake residents the following day.”
“I can’t express enough gratitude and excitement for the amazing team we have here in food and beverage services at Treasure Lake. Chef Scott, Rachel and Patty are the glue holding everything together. They are an unbelievable and talented staff to have on board with a true desire and commitment to Treasure Lake and its residents.”
New hours for the tavern are not yet finalized but a 7am breakfast buffet will be offered daily with the restaurant closing around 10pm on weekdays and midnight on weekends. There will be some new menu items as well as old favorites offered, in addition to a new signature drink, according to Lockwood.
“Chef Scott will have free reign every two weeks to come up with new specials to showcase what he’s all about. I’m very excited about that – he has a lot of talent to share and Treasure Lake is very lucky to have him,” added Lockwood.
As for other changes in food and beverages in Treasure Lake, Lockwood emphasized, “Stay tuned for new announcements regarding poolside service. Once Duffers’ is complete we plan to add additional services and options including extended hours and dockside service for boaters. I think residents and guests are going to be very excited about what’s to come.”
