Sandy Township Police Reports – May 31-Jun 3

Officers received a report of a 911 hang up call from a dead cell phone in the area of S. Brady Street.  Upon arrival in the area officers found a 33 year old man sitting on a trailer who reported that he and his girlfriend had gotten into an argument after he had given a friend the keys to his ATV to go home.  Officers handled the situation without incident.

Officers were called to the lower parking lot of Walmart, where there were 2 dogs running around, and the caller thought someone may get hurt.  Upon arrival officers located a semi-truck driver who had the dogs on shock collars in the area of his truck. Officers handled the situation without incident.  

A 59 year old New Bethlehem woman and her 63 year old passenger went to the emergency room after being in a minor accident while coming off I80 at exit 97.  They exchanged information with the other party involved but had not called the police at the time of the accident and did not feel they suffered any injuries until several hours later.  

A 79 year old W. Liberty Road woman backed her vehicle out of her driveway when she hit a vehicle driven by a McKeesport man causing moderate damage to both vehicles.

June 1, 2019

A Forsyth Road resident reported that someone, possibly driving a loud ¾ ton pick up truck, smashed two mailboxes in the area, early in the morning. There was no sign of the offending vehicle.

Officers received a report of ATV’s being operated on West Liberty Road. The offending vehicles were gone prior to their arrival.

False alarm at Treasure Lake residence

June 2, 2019

Officers observed a vehicle make an illegal u-turn on Rich Highway, then driving erratically on Slab Run Road, before pulling the vehicle over just below the Pine Inn.  The 34 year old Reynoldsville woman told the officer that she had taken someone from the Pine Inn to a hotel because they had too much to drink, and then drove back to sleep in the parking lot because she had had too much to drink to drive home.  The woman failed field sobriety testing and was transported to Penn Highlands for a legal blood draw. Charges pending.
