This Day in Treasure Lake Summer 1971 – 4th of July Luau Was Almost “too much of a success”.

Reprinted from Sounds of Treasure Lake Vol. 4 No. 2

When 950 people turned out for a party planned for 650, the original menu of roast pig, chicken, teriyaki and mahi mahi had to be supplemented with steaks rushed in from a nearby provisioner.

Season’s biggest crowd turned up at the beach.

Hungry guests line up for the luau.

The band gets a critical appraisal from the younger set.
