This Day in Treasure Lake Summer 1974 – New Recreation Season Means Boating, Cycling, Sports at DuBois Site

Among the first to launch their boat at the Treasure Lake, DuBois Marina this season were June and Jim Elliot, property owners from Pittsburgh. They spend many weekends and vacations at the DuBois property.

Another season of summer recreation is underway at Treasure Lake, DuBois. Summer vacation time brings more and more property owners to their Treasure Lake homesite for weekend or all-summer fun, to join those residents who make their permanent home there.

Once again, boats are out of storage and docked at the Marina, which has 182 boat slips for rental and a complete service area. 280-acre Treasure Lake and 200-acre Bimini Lake are available for boating, waterskiing, swimming and fishing. There is also fishing at two well-stocked lakes.

The par-72 golf course is in play, with clinics and lessons being given by Pro Lou Michaels, beaches and three swimming pools are open, and six tennis courts and one paddle tennis court are open with tennis clinics and private lessons in progress.

Treasure Lake’s Stables, with rental horses for riding and facilities for boarding sponsor special horse shows on weekends throughout the summer. Treasure Lake’s 570-site Campgrounds, equipped with a comfort station, laundry facilities, pool and bathhouse, are taking summer site reservations now.

Fun for the Riordan family is cycling around Treasure Lake, DuBois. The Riordans include Stanley and his wife, Bonnie (center), Patrick (left) and Stanley Jr. (right). They are from Oil City, PA and spend weekends and vacations at their Treasure Lake home.
