What’s Happening This Week and Next in the DuBois Area

Join us for the last summer concert at DuBois City Park sponsored by the City of DuBois. Come out and enjoy an evening of live music by Elements on Thursday, August 29th at Edward V. Cherry Amphitheater, 6-8pm. Incase of inclement weather, we will try to reschedule. There are bleacher seats available for 100 people or bring your own lawn chair.

The Reitz Theater Presents- Next to Normal! This will be held on August 29th, 30th, and 31st at the Sawmill Theatre Stage in Cooks Forest starting at 8pm. This show contains mature language and situations. The original 2009 Broadway production won three Tony awards as well as the 2010 Pulitzer Prize for Drama; it is one of only nine musicals to be honored with the latter. It is a musical that is certain to entertain both veteran and contemporary theatre enthusiasts alike. The Winery at Wilcox in the DuBois Mall- Thursday,August 29th from 6-8pm for The Ultimate Taste. Join us for a guided tasting tour of all our wines! You will receive a small sample of each wine, while our wine professional talks about them and answers any questions you may have. Tickets are $15 plus tax per person. Winkler Art Gallery and Education Center is holding an Open House/Reception Friday, September 6th from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm at the Gallery located at 36 N. Brady Street, DuBois, PA. The Parkside Community Center will be having a Junk in the Trunk sale on Saturday, August 31st 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Labor Day weekend). They are currently looking for vendors. DuBois Area Historical Society- Will be holding their 37th Annual Dinner, Thursday, September 5th at Christ Lutheran Church, Sunflower Drive, DuBois, PA. at 6:00pm. Al Holliday, publisher of Pennsylvania Magazine, will be the guest speaker for this event. The cost for dinner is $22 per person. The menu includes: chicken marsala, roast beef, red skin potatoes, cabbage and noodles, glazed carrots, salad, desert and coffee.
